In 1991, Mary Prochnow founded Prochnow Realtors, Inc. in downtown Los Altos. It is our goal as your full service real estate company specializing in the Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View, Sunnyvale and Palo Alto areas, to provide you with superior service at all times.

Our local expertise and extensive real estate experience will benefit you whether you are serious about buying or selling a home at this time, or are a returning client checking out the many homeowner resources we offer.

With more than 37 years experience in the real estate business, Mary Prochnow began her career with Merit McBride Realtors in Los Altos, California in 1972. After obtaining her Broker's license in 1974, Mary became Executive Vice President of Merit McBride and later was appointed President. Under her leadership, the company grew to encompass 500 agents in 22 offices in California and Nevada. Mary's mother was a Real Estate Broker in San Mateo and Mary recalls sitting on open houses 'before she could sit'.

Community involvement has been an important element of Mary's life for many years. She has served as President of the Los Altos Rotary Club and has similarly served many other local organizations such as The Los Altos Chamber of Commerce, Silicon Valley Association of Realtors and the Los Altos Community Foundation. When she isn't working with her clients or serving the community, Mary enjoys traveling around California.

Mary's daughter, Baidra Prochnow Murphy, joined the firm in 1996 after graduating from the California College of Arts and Crafts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. Baidra acquired her Real Estate Brokers license in 2002 and holds the designations of Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) and ePro. Baidra is proud to be a third generation Realtor. Baidra is also involved with the local community and is a past director for the Los Altos Rotary Club. Baidra also serves on the Professional Standards Committee for the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors. When Baidra isn't with her clients, she is happily chasing her son with a camera in hand. 

Baidra's husband, Sean Murphy, joined the team in 2006. Sean has years of experience in the construction industry and provides valuable insight to the team and our clients. Sean's can-do attitude and market evaluation are a great asset to his clients. Growing up, soccer was a big part of Sean's childhood and recently, Sean had the opportunity to coach his son's soccer team. A great time was had by all!
